Career Consultant | Job Search Strategist | Resume Specialist | Facilitator | Executive Coach

Summary

David Pratt
I am a Senior Consultant in Career Management for Right Management, operating out of Right's Massachusetts hub office in downtown Boston. I partner with individuals ranging from executives and managers to entry-level candidates currently in career transition.

Utilizing both one-on-one and group coaching, I facilitate the process of helping my candidates move from where they currently are, to where they want to be. My ability to blend the appropriate amount of humor, empathy, candid conversation and compassion allows those I work with to not only achieve their goals, but embrace the process along the way.

Prior to joining Right Management, I have held various Human Resources positions, primarily in recruitment, training and development. My strong business development background, primarily in the Financial Services and Technical Training industries provides organizations a unique combination of ability to drive business while enhancing the experience for clients and customers alike.

Questions & Answers

What is the one piece of advice you'd give all job applicants?

Be authentic. It's certainly important to be prepared, do the research, know how your skills align with the position requirements and all those other things every career coach will tell you. At the end of the day, people want to like the person they work with.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Hands down, facilitating in-office seminars. I enjoy delivering virtual webinars and find individual coaching sessions rewarding, but connecting with a group, seeing the light come on, and having some fun while we're at it? Can't be beat.

Why did you choose your current profession?

While I would love to say it was a very strategic move on my part, I can't. I was networking after being impacted by a reduction in force (if anyone can relate) and met with a senior leader at Right Management. While there wasn't an existing opening, yes, the hidden job market does exist, she thought my background would be an interesting fit for an upcoming project, though only on a part-time basis. Fast forward 14+ years, and here I am....and still loving it.
